About This Project
The Lockyer Valley Equine Precinct is a multi-staged redevelopment that will harness the traditions and legacy of the Lockyer Valley’s thoroughbred racing and provide a new iconic, world-class national equine precinct.

The Queensland equine industry is experiencing and planning for high growth in economic value and additional jobs over the next 20 years and beyond.
The proposed equine precinct redevelopment will boost the equine industry cluster in the Lockyer Valley, delivering productivity, effectiveness and innovation to the region’s facilities and specialists in equine health.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council
Lockyer Valley Regional Council employs approximately 350 staff and an annual budget of approximately $56M. Council’s stated vision is to, “deliver sustainable services to enhance the liveability of our community while embracing our economic, cultural and natural diversity.”

Lockyer Valley Turf Club
The Lockyer Valley Turf Club is located in the town of Gatton, less than 1.5 hours west of Brisbane, Queensland.
They have a proud history of delivering true country style horse races. As a country turf club, they have a committed volunteer team who make each race day very special.
To experience the warm hospitality and fun of a country race meet, you only need to visit their Club.

Equestrian Queensland
The Equestrian Federation of Australia (Queensland Branch) Inc, now known as Equestrian Queensland Inc was established 1951 and incorporated in 1986.
Equestrian Queensland is the peak body for horse sports in Queensland and is the state body of Equestrian Australia, which is the controlling body for horse sports in Australia and is affiliated with the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), which is the controlling body for horse sports world-wide.
Equestrian Queensland also maintains affiliations with relevant Government and Non-Government agencies at the State level such as the Queensland Olympic Council, the Sports Federation of Queensland and Recreation Training Queensland.
Racing Queensland
The Racing Queensland Board trading as Racing Queensland provides a platform to service the racing industry across the three codes of racing.
Racing Queensland’s vision is to become the #1 sporting industry in the sunshine state, with the mission to champion great racing and events which connect Queensland communities.
