Australian Government Launches $350 Million Thriving Suburbs Program
The Australian Government has announced the Thriving Suburbs Program, a $350 million initiative set to commence in 2024-25. This program aims to support locally-driven community infrastructure projects across urban, suburban, and peri-urban areas within Australia’s Greater Capital City Statistical Areas.
Eligible local government entities and incorporated not-for-profit organisations can apply for funding ranging from $500,000 to $15 million. The focus is on projects that enhance liveability, strengthen social cohesion, and improve local amenities.
Applications for the program will be open from 27 July 2024 and will close at 5:00 PM AEST on 26 August 2024. The application process includes an initial online eligibility checklist to ensure applicants meet the criteria and are ready to proceed.
This is a one-time funding round, and allocations will be made on a merit basis. Applicants are encouraged to act quickly to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their communities.
