Connecting Queensland’s Regions for a Stronger Future

RDA Ipswich & West Moreton CEO Rees Banks and Deputy Chair Katey Banks joined regional leaders, policymakers and industry representatives at the Queensland Futures Institute (QFI) Annual Regions Summit 2026.

The annual summit brings together voices from across Queensland to explore the economic, infrastructure and workforce opportunities and challenges shaping the future of the State’s regions.

This year’s discussions covered regional economic conditions, infrastructure investment, workforce development, investment attraction and industry diversification, with Reserve Bank of Australia Deputy Governor Andrew Hauser among the speakers sharing insights on Queensland’s economic outlook.

For RDA Ipswich & West Moreton, the summit provided another valuable opportunity to connect with regional leaders and strengthen relationships across government, industry and the broader RDA network.

Rees and Katey also caught up with colleagues from RDA Brisbane, RDA Logan & Redlands and RDA Darling Downs & South West — continuing the conversations and collaboration that help ensure regional priorities remain part of Queensland’s broader economic agenda.

Events such as the Annual Regions Summit reinforce the important role collaboration plays in building stronger, more resilient regional economies and creating opportunities for communities across Queensland.
