Farm Business Management Training Helps Build Stronger Agricultural Businesses in Somerset

Regional Development Australia Ipswich & West Moreton (RDAIWM) CEO Rees Banks joined Women in Agriculture Project Manager Janne Dipple in Esk on the 15 July for the Farm Business Management Skill Set, delivered as part of the Queensland Government-funded Women in Agriculture program.

The training brought together more than 14 participants from across the Somerset region, providing practical skills to strengthen business planning, improve decision-making and build long-term resilience for local farming enterprises.

Delivered by Mat from UQSkills at The University of Queensland, the program demonstrates the value of collaboration in supporting regional communities and building capability within the agricultural sector.

RDAIWM was also pleased to welcome Committee Member Cr Sally Jess, who visited the workshop to show her support for participants, alongside Somerset Regional Council, a valued partner in helping deliver the initiative.

The Farm Business Management Skill Set forms part of the broader Women in Agriculture program, which aims to strengthen workforce participation, skills development and business capability across the Ipswich & West Moreton region.
