Overview
ATSE's Elevate: Boosting diversity in STEM program will award up to 500 undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships to women and non-binary people in STEM. Elevate aims to address gender inequities in STEM through fostering more women and non-binary led industry-academia collaborations in applied research and business, growing professional skills of women in STEM and propelling women and non-binary people into leadership.
The Elevate program provides:
- A scholarship
- Access to skill-building workshops
- Access to peer mentoring and networking events
- Access to 24/7 wellbeing and psychosocial support.
The aims of the Elevate program are:
- Elevate women and non-binary people into leadership
- Support women and non-binary people to access and foster industry-academia collaborations
- Equitable and inclusive support for under-represented women and non-binary people to pursue STEM education, careers, growth, sustainability and effective delivery
About This Grant
Aims to address inequities in STEM through comprehensive scholarships enabling more diverse women and non-binary people to access tertiary STEM education, professional skills development and STEM leadership opportunities with industry and academia.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants are required to meet all three eligibility criteria:
- Identify as a woman or non-binary person
- Be enrolling as a domestic student at an Australian University
- Be planning to undertake an eligible undergraduate STEM degree commencing in 2027.
ATSE particularly encourages applications from individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander; individuals from regional, rural or remote areas; LGBTQIA+; individuals from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds; low-socioeconomic backgrounds; or those living with a disability. Diversity, inclusion, and achievement relative to opportunity will be considered in the assessment and selection process.
