Overview

The Infrastructure for Multicultural Communities grant opportunity provides total funding of up to $41.6 million (GST exclusive) for construction, upgrade or extension of infrastructure.

The objectives of the grant opportunity are to:
- Deliver physical infrastructure to support multicultural communities connect and commune in a designated physical environment
- Provide co-funding to deliver community-focussed infrastructure and amenities
- Provide infrastructure and amenities that benefit the wider multicultural community by improving equity and social inclusion.

Funded projects will target construction, upgrade or extension of infrastructure that provides demonstrated benefits to multicultural communities. You can apply for one of 3 streams of grant funding based on the type of infrastructure project and amount of grant funding you require for the project:
- Stream 1 – Amenity projects: $20,000 - $100,000
- Stream 2 – Small to medium infrastructure projects: $100,001 - $500,000
- Stream 3 – Larger infrastructure projects: $500,001 - $1.5 million.

About This Grant

Funds physical infrastructure to support multicultural communities to connect and commune in a designated physical environment.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, you must be:
- A not-for-profit organisation
- A legal entity with the capacity to enter into a legally binding grant agreement with the Commonwealth; and

One of the following entity types:
- Company
- Cooperative
- Incorporated Association
- Indigenous Corporation
- Statutory Entity.

Application Process

Grant recipients must be prepared to provide the following close to the grant execution date:
- Regulatory and/or development approvals
- Evidence of experience in delivering similar sized projects or have engaged a third party with relevant experience
- Evidence of co-contribution from another source or cash contribution to the project
- Detailed project proposal, including project plans (designs), timelines and procurement process
- Detailed budget including quotes and cost benefit analysis
- Detailed risk management plan
- Evidence of ownership or permission to use the land/infrastructure.

The following will be prioritised for funding through this grant:
- New and emerging communities
- Projects focussed on achieving positive outcomes for multicultural women, multicultural LGBTIQA+ community members, and multicultural people with a disability.

Other multicultural community groups, including those in metropolitan locations, will also be able to apply.
