Overview
The Fellowship is unique in that it invests in the professional development of an individual. The award is designed to give recipients the time and space to develop the skills, knowledge and networks to accelerate their growth as a social impact leader. This may involve engaging with local and global thought leaders and industry experts, short courses, coaching, mentoring and building stronger connections that will directly enhance your ability to lead social change.
Should you be chosen, you’ll get access to:
- Generous personal development funding. Receive up to $50,000 for your personal development including study tours, short courses, conferences, coaching, overseas learning experiences and more
- Leadership coaching. Accelerate your growth with our bespoke leadership program which includes a 4-day residential experience, plus online group coaching and capacity building sessions throughout the year
- W100 Scholars Network. Connect with an inspiring network of like-minded game-changers, achievers and believers across all five Westpac scholarship streams and attend exclusive events like the Westpac Scholars Summit held in Sydney.
About This Grant
Supports innovators with a passion to create positive social change in Australia.
The Westpac Social Change Fellowship supports the development of individuals who have the vision and commitment to shape a better future for Australians. Each year up to ten Fellowships, worth up to $50,000, are awarded to those candidates who are leading an initiative that tackles one of the Australia’s social issues.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible to apply you must be able to answer 'yes' to ALL of the questions below:
- Are you an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident? (You will be required to provide supporting documentation on request.)
- Are you over the age of 18?
- Do you have experience initiating and leading social change?
- Are you currently in a leadership role within an existing organisation/initiative and responsible for leading a team?
- Is the organisation/initiative tackling a social issue of importance to Australian communities? (I.e. an issue impacting the wellbeing of Australians.)
- Is the organisation/initiative able to evidence its social impact? (Your current organisation/initiative should be beyond the validation stage. See stages (PDF 56KB).
- Are you able to demonstrate support from the community your organisation/initiative is serving?
- Are you seeking funding for your personal development (not for your organisation/initiative) which will enable you to scale your social impact?
- Are you able to commit to and participate fully in the fellowship program, including taking time out of your organisation/initiative, to make the most of the opportunity within the award year? (In addition to your development plan activities, the program includes a multiday Leadership Development Residential and the annual Scholars Summit.)
