Ipswich Looks Ahead to Brisbane 2032 Opportunities

With six years until the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, attention is already turning to the opportunities the Games could create for Ipswich and the wider region.

Regional Development Australia Ipswich & West Moreton (RDAIWM) Chair and Ipswich Deputy Mayor Cr Nicole Jonic and CEO Rees Banks joined community, business and government leaders at Ipswich City Council’s 6 Years to Go – Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Celebration at Brighton Homes Arena, Springfield.

The event provided an opportunity to hear more about preparations for Brisbane 2032 and what hosting the Games could mean for Ipswich as an official Games co-host city.

Cr Jonic and Mr Banks also caught up with Dominique Lamb, Director of Community Affairs for Brisbane 2032, while an industry panel explored the opportunities ahead for the city and its communities.

For RDAIWM, the significance of Brisbane 2032 extends well beyond sport, with the Games presenting opportunities to support local jobs, business growth, investment, tourism and infrastructure across the region.

With preparations already underway, the years leading into 2032 will be important in ensuring local businesses, industries and communities are positioned to benefit from the opportunities associated with hosting one of the world’s largest sporting events.
