Major Projects Connect Event Highlights Opportunities for Somerset Businesses

Regional Development Australia Ipswich & West Moreton (RDAIWM) CEO Rees Banks and Women in Agriculture Project Manager Janne Dipple joined local businesses, industry leaders and major project proponents at the Major Projects Connect event hosted by the Somerset Business Chamber on the 22 July.

The event brought together representatives from Queensland Hydro, Powerlink Queensland, Seqwater, Somerset Regional Council and other key organisations to discuss upcoming infrastructure projects and the procurement opportunities they will create for local businesses.

The evening provided an opportunity for businesses to learn more about future projects, build valuable industry connections and explore ways to participate in the significant investment taking place across the Somerset region.

During the event, Rees highlighted the range of support Regional Development Australia Ipswich & West Moreton provides to businesses through workforce initiatives, employment programs and regional partnerships. Janne also showcased the Women in Agriculture project, promoting the training, workforce development and employer support available to businesses and communities across the region.

RDAIWM CEO Rees Banks said events such as Major Projects Connect play an important role in ensuring regional businesses are well positioned to benefit from future economic opportunities.
