Queensland Small Business Month Set to Kick Off in May

Queensland Small Business Month (QSBM) is on the horizon, poised to spotlight and support the multitude of small businesses that form the backbone of our state’s economy.

Throughout May, QSBM will offer networking opportunities and skill development programs, empowering business owners to thrive in their respective industries. It’s also a chance for the community to rally behind their favourite local businesses, spanning retail, trades, logistics, health, and more.

With over 482,000 small businesses accounting for a remarkable 97% of all businesses in Queensland, their combined contribution of around $117 billion annually underscores their significance to our economy.

QSBM will feature a diverse array of events and activities across the state, aimed at equipping small business owners with the tools and resources they need to succeed. Chambers of commerce, local governments, and other groups are encouraged to organise their own events and register them on the Business Events Calendar.

These initiatives provide invaluable opportunities for small business owners to connect with local networks and resources, empowering them to navigate challenges and seize opportunities. The Department of Employment, Small Business, and Training collaborates with stakeholders to ensure a robust and rewarding program each year.
