RDA Ipswich & West Moreton Celebrates Women in Agriculture Graduates

Twenty women celebrated an important milestone yesterday as they graduated from the Farm Business Management Skillset (Digital) at the Foundation Building, UQ Gatton, marking the successful completion of a program designed to strengthen digital capability and support the future of Queensland agriculture.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) Ipswich & West Moreton proudly celebrated the achievements of the graduates, who completed the training through the Women in Agriculture project, funded by the Queensland Government’s Workforce Participation Fund and expertly delivered by UQSkills.

The Farm Business Management Skillset (Digital) equips participants with practical digital and business management skills to help strengthen farming enterprises, improve confidence and support informed decision-making in an increasingly technology-driven agricultural sector.

The graduation ceremony recognised not only the successful completion of the program, but also the commitment, resilience and determination demonstrated by each participant throughout their learning journey.

RDA Ipswich & West Moreton CEO Rees Banks said the graduation reflected the power of investing in people and creating opportunities that deliver lasting benefits for regional communities.

The graduation was attended by distinguished guests, including Mr Jim McDonald MP, Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor Tanya Milligan, Somerset Regional Council Mayor Jason Wendt, Cr Sally Jess and Cr Anthony Wilson, who joined graduates, project partners and supporters in celebrating the success of the program.

Mr Banks said the achievements of the graduates demonstrated what could be accomplished through strong partnerships between government, education providers and regional organisations.

RDA Ipswich & West Moreton congratulates all 20 graduates on their outstanding achievement and acknowledges the dedication of Janne Dipple, Project Manager of the Women in Agriculture project, whose leadership has helped create valuable learning opportunities for women across the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset regions.

RDA Ipswich & West Moreton also thanks the Queensland Government for its support through the Workforce Participation Fund, UQSkills for delivering the training, and all project partners and supporters who continue to invest in the success of women in regional agriculture.

The Women in Agriculture project continues to empower women with the skills, knowledge and confidence to build stronger businesses, strengthen regional industries and contribute to a thriving agricultural sector across Queensland.
