RDA Ipswich & West Moreton Discuss Future Projects with Somerset Regional Council

This month, RDA Ipswich & West Moreton met with Somerset Regional Council to discuss key regional projects aimed at attracting future Federal and State support. The focus was on initiatives to enhance the region’s infrastructure and tourism potential. We’re advocating for significant projects in the region, such as the Lowood Futures Strategy, Kilcoy Streetscape, Kilcoy Indoor Sports Centre, Toogoolawah Gateway project, and many more.

During their visit, Rees and Bri enjoyed lunch at the Esk Grand Hotel, where they reviewed the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail map and historic photos. This historic trail stretches 161km from Wulkuraka in Ipswich to Yarraman and offers a scenic journey through Queensland’s heritage. Visitors can enjoy stunning countryside, explore quaint country towns, visit old train stations and carriages, and delve into the rich history of early settlers. Just 47km from Brisbane, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is a prime destination for those seeking to experience the region’s natural beauty and historical significance.
