Discovering Bushfoods in the Lockyer Valley

A recent visit to Doug and Tracey from Native Oz Bushfoods offered a unique opportunity to experience authentic Australian bush foods and learn more about local Indigenous culture. Located in Ropley in the picturesque Lockyer Valley, the property showcases native ingredients and cultural knowledge in a welcoming tourism setting.

After first connecting at the First Nations Business Expo in Toowoomba last October, Rees and Bri were eager to visit the property and see the operation firsthand. During the visit, they were introduced to a range of Australian bush foods and gained insight into the cultural significance of native ingredients to Indigenous communities in the region.

The visit also highlighted the variety of products produced by Native Oz Bushfoods, including native salts and unique soft drinks inspired by Australian flavours.

Doug and Tracey’s passion for sharing bush foods and culture is helping to create a distinctive tourism experience in the Lockyer Valley while supporting local knowledge and enterprise.
