Collaboration Key to Unlocking Trade Opportunities Across the Region
A regional focus on trade and investment took centre stage yesterday as leaders and stakeholders gathered for a Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) meeting chaired by Rees, aimed at unlocking new opportunities across South East Queensland.
The meeting brought together representatives from Ipswich City Council, Scenic Rim Regional Council and Somerset Regional Council, alongside Trade Commissioners and TIQ staff, to explore emerging investment prospects and strengthen regional collaboration.
Attendees heard from Trade Commissioners including Shannon Leahy, Abhinav Bhatia, Michael Kocken and Juna Ferrett, who shared insights into their respective markets and highlighted key areas of interest for future trade and investment.
Local council representatives also provided valuable updates on their regions’ industries, growth sectors and opportunities for collaboration, reinforcing the importance of a coordinated regional approach.
Tom Sharp and Marnie Doyle were acknowledged for their support and active participation in the discussion.
The RDA Ipswich & West Moreton team was also in attendance, representing key initiatives including the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee and the Women in Agriculture project.
The meeting highlighted strong momentum across the region, with participants committed to continuing collaboration to drive export, import and investment opportunities into the future.
