IPSWICH & WEST MORETON

Regional Priorities Front and Centre in Canberra
Regional Development Australia (RDA) Ipswich & West Moreton CEO Rees Banks has spent the week in Canberra meeting with Federal representatives to advocate for the projects and priorities identified by communities across the Ipswich & West Moreton region.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the opportunities, challenges and future needs of the region, while ensuring community priorities remain front and centre in conversations with Federal decision-makers.
Throughout the trip, Rees met with a number of key stakeholders, including Federal Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann MP, Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP, and former Federal Member for Capricornia, Kirsten Livermore.
Representing Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim and Somerset, Rees took to Canberra each region’s What Our Community Needs flyer, highlighting the top five priority projects identified by local communities across the four local government areas.
The What Our Community Needs initiative captures the projects and infrastructure priorities considered most important by local communities and stakeholders, helping to guide advocacy efforts and inform future investment discussions.
RDA Ipswich & West Moreton CEO Rees Banks said ensuring regional voices are heard at all levels of government remains a key priority for the organisation.
The visit reinforces RDA Ipswich & West Moreton’s ongoing commitment to advocating for initiatives that support economic growth, workforce development and thriving regional communities.
