UniSQ Springfield Celebrates 20 Years in the Region

The University of Southern Queensland’s Springfield campus has celebrated an important milestone, marking 20 years of education, connection and growth within the Springfield community.

RDA Ipswich & West Moreton CEO Rees Banks joined alumni, industry representatives, community members, staff, students and guests over the weekend to recognise the campus’s two-decade journey and its contribution to the wider region.

The celebration included a Welcome by Uncle Wayne Fossey, with UniSQ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Paul Mazerolle and Springfield City Group Deputy Chairman Bob Sharpless among the guest speakers. Daryl Sparkes served as MC for the event.

Also attending were The Hon Shayne Neumann MP, Federal Member for Blair, Charis Mullen MP, State Member for Jordan, and Cr David Martin.

A highlight from the celebration was an aerial photograph showing the Springfield campus under construction in 2005 – providing a striking reminder of just how much the campus and surrounding Springfield community have transformed over the past 20 years.

Today, UniSQ Springfield plays an important role in the region’s education and training landscape, supporting skills development, workforce capability and connections between students, industry and the community.

RDA Ipswich & West Moreton congratulates UniSQ Springfield and everyone who has contributed to its journey over the past 20 years and looks forward to seeing the campus continue to grow alongside the region.
