20th Anniversary Commemorative Grants

Aims to inspire and support innovative, measurable, and high-impact environmental initiatives.

Objectives of the grants
- Support initiatives that would deliver measurable positive impacts on the preservation of biodiversity and environmental sustainability in Australia
- Strengthen effective and impactful environmental organisations that are limited by capacity to leverage their proven track records in delivering tangible environmental outcomes.

Funding scheme
- Total gift pool: $2 million
- Gift amount: based on the application pool and the successful initiative's scope
- Funding available: from Financial Year 2026-27
- Funded duration: Up to three years (for ecological restoration, up to five years).

Elements PEF is looking to support:
1. Environmental outcomes sought
- Protection of high conservation value habitats
- Reduction or mitigation of unsustainable management of natural resources
- Eliminating pollution by resolving its causes, through the implementation of best available solutions.

2. Strategies and activities
- Are grounded in best available science and solutions(s)
- Avoid any negative consequences to other elements of the natural environment
- Seek to address social licence on the status quo.

3. Impact deliverables
- Results in tangible or measurable outcomes that protect or conserve the environment
- Demonstrate a measurable increase in awareness of the current state of the environment.

Eligibility
- Australian environmental NGOs with ABN
- Project must be delivered in Australia.
