Festivals Australia

Provides funding to support individual art projects in regional or remote locations.

Eligible projects take place at festivals, or significant one-off community events such as a town celebration or opening of a new community resource. Festivals Australia will:
- Provide access to a diverse range of high quality, innovative arts projects that grow audiences at festivals across regional Australia
- Support partnerships and collaboration across the arts sector
- Encourage community participation in arts projects at regional and remote festivals.

Festivals Australia funds engaging arts projects that invite community participation and audience engagement in regional and remote Australia. Projects can include but are not limited to a parade, performance, workshop, installation or exhibition.

The aim is to give community members living in regional or remote Australia the chance to participate in or attend an arts experience at a festival, or a significant one-off community celebration.

Festivals Australia will only fund a single project (not a range of unrelated activities) delivered at a festival or significant one-off community celebration in an eligible regional or remote location.

Who can apply
- Regional artists, arts workers, and organisations can apply for arts and cultural projects that encourage community participation and audience engagement from people living in regional and remote communities in a festival or significant one-off community celebration.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:
- Be an Australian incorporated organisation
- Have an active Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Be registered for the purposes of GST, if required by the Australian Taxation Office
- Not have any outstanding reports, acquittals or serious breaches relating to any Australian Government funding.

Applicants from the Australian external territories, such as Norfolk Island, are eligible to apply.

Unincorporated groups are eligible for funding but must be auspiced by an organisation that meets the above criteria.
