Overview

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) is Queensland's largest one-off community grants program, distributing approximately $60 million each year to not-for-profit community groups. The funding helps these groups provide services, leisure activities and opportunities for Queensland communities.

About This Grant

Round 126 ($35k standard grant round) is now open and will close at midnight on 28 February 2026. The outcome of a funding application may take up to 4 to 5 months after the closing date. The dates of remaining GCBF rounds in 2026 are yet to be finalised.

Organisations can apply for a wide variety of items including community events/training, equipment (including medical equipment), facility improvements, machinery, printing/publications/marketing, solar, vehicles/boats, and workshops/conferences.

Eligibility Requirements

Organisation type: Must be either a legal entity or sponsored entity with not-for-profit objectives.
Legal entities must:

Be incorporated or registered under an Act of Parliament
Have an active ABN
Have a bank account in the organisation's name
Provide a bank verification form stamped by their financial institution

Sponsored entities must:

Have not-for-profit objectives
Have a legal entity sponsor their application

Additional requirements:

Organisations must register on the GCBF online grants portal
Registration details must be reviewed and updated annually
Financial information must be no more than 2 years old at round closing date
Three referees required (cannot be committee members, family members, or those who would benefit from the grant)
Parents and citizens associations (P&Cs) and parents and friends associations (P&Fs) can apply, but schools are not eligible
