Homegrown – Queensland Destination Events Fund: Destination Signature Event

Previously known as the Queensland Destination Events Program, Homegrown has supported more than 1,000 events with more than $25 million in funding. The program has recently been refreshed to align with the Queensland Government's Destination 2045: Delivering Queensland's Tourism Future 20-year vision and will create even more opportunities for events to grow and thrive.

Events must demonstrate their ability to meet key objectives:
- Generate economic activity in the host destination
- Attract external visitors to the destination
- Drive social and community outcomes for the host destination
- Enhance the profile and appeal of the host destination.

- Destination Signature Event (this listing)
- Destination Kickstarter Events (see other listing)
- Destination Significant Event (see other listing).

Signature events are key to showcasing their host destination and have a proven track record of drawing audiences beyond the local government area. Funding helps these events to grow and contribute to the visitor economy.

Helps connect events with the unique destinations they call home, ensuring the benefits of these events are felt far and wide across the State.

Events must have been staged at least twice previously and demonstrate they attract visitors from outside their local government area.

Terms:
- Up to three consecutive years for a maximum of two funding terms (up to six years)
- Following this period, events are expected to demonstrate growth in tourism outcomes to progress to destination significant event funding or may be permitted to reapply for destination signature event funding
- Alternatively, they may be required to take a one-year break before reapplying for destination signature event funding to refine and strengthen their strategic approach.

- Marketing costs
- Event program enhancements
- Event growth development plan
- Short term specialised personnel
- Hire of temporary infrastructure.
