Growcom amplifies Women in Agriculture project, backing digital skills for regional women

Growcom has thrown its support behind the Women in Agriculture Project by featuring the initiative in a recent news article, helping raise awareness of the opportunities available to women across regional Queensland.

The Growcom news piece, Driving digital development for women in ag, outlines how the project is equipping women in the Lockyer Valley, Ipswich, Scenic Rim and Somerset regions with vital digital and technical skills for careers in one of Queensland’s most important industries.

Hosted by Regional Development Australia Ipswich & West Moreton and managed by agribusiness training expert Janne Dipple, the project supports up to 100 women from diverse backgrounds to build confidence and capability across a range of digital areas — from basic digital literacy and business software to more advanced AgTech tools and data-driven systems.

Growcom’s coverage reinforces the importance of inclusive workforce development in agriculture, especially as the industry continues to modernise and embrace technology-driven practices. The advocacy helps expand the project’s reach, encouraging more women to consider agricultural careers and connect with training and placement opportunities.

The Women in Agriculture Project also works closely with Queensland Agriculture Workforce Network (QAWN) Officers Liz Ford and Amy Nash, who emphasise that digital capability and workplace diversity are key to a stronger, more sustainable agricultural sector.
