Ipswich NAIDOC 2025 – A Celebration of Culture, Family and Country
The Ipswich NAIDOC 2025 Family & Cultural Celebration brought together community, culture and connection in a powerful day honouring the identity, resilience and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Held on the lands traditionally known as Tulmur, home to the Jagera, Yuggera and Ugarapul Peoples of the Yugara Language Group, the event highlighted Ipswich’s deep respect for its Indigenous heritage.
Community members and leaders gathered to reflect, celebrate, and share culture through art, music, storytelling and more. Local MPs including Hon Shayne Neumann, Lance McCallum, and Wendy Bourne were among those in attendance.
A visit to Nhuralama’s Shop, run by local artist Anne, added a special touch to the day – showcasing stunning handmade pieces that embody culture and Country.
The event was a heartfelt reminder of the strength and pride of First Nations communities and the importance of continuing to listen, learn and walk together.
