RDAIWM CEO Rees Banks, Chair Ipswich Deputy Mayor Cr Nicole Jonic, and committee member Somerset Cr Sally Jess joined voices with UniSQ representatives, including RDA Darling Downs and South West Chair Rouz Fard, to highlight the role of tertiary education in regional growth.
The event brought together local businesses, unions, community groups, government agencies, and subject experts to explore shared economic challenges and opportunities across Ipswich, the Somerset Region, and surrounds.
Assistant Treasurer Daniel Mulino set the tone with an opening address outlining the Australian Government’s reform agenda, followed by an engaging talk from Everald Compton on intergenerational partnerships.
Key recommendations from the roundtable will be presented to Treasurer Jim Chalmers MP ahead of the national Economic Reform Roundtable later this month.
