RDA Ipswich & West Moreton Showcases RETC Project at National Forum

Rees attended the RDA National Forum 2025 in Canberra, hosted by the Hon Kristy McBain MP. The forum brought together representatives from RDAs across Australia to share insights, celebrate achievements, and highlight the critical work being delivered in regional communities.

As part of the forum, Rees presented the Regional Energy Transition Collaborative (RETC) project, showcasing the outcomes it has delivered for the Ipswich and West Moreton region. The RETC project explores the technical viability, social readiness, and economic impacts of innovative energy-sharing models, supporting communities to access smarter, more sustainable energy solutions.

The project was led by Sarah Hutson, RETC Project Manager, whose leadership was instrumental in delivering the initiative and achieving tangible outcomes for the region.

The forum also provided a valuable opportunity to connect with RDA colleagues from across the country. A special acknowledgment was made to RDA Logan & Redlands Deputy Chair Alexis Matthew-Fredricks and CEO Craig Harrision for their ongoing contributions to regional development.

Adding to the recognition, the RETC case study has been featured on the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts website, highlighting Ipswich & West Moreton’s role in the national transition to renewable energy.

The National Forum underscored the importance of collaboration across regions, with RDA Ipswich & West Moreton proud to contribute insights and examples of innovative projects that can inform and inspire communities across Australia as the nation moves towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.
