Springfield Regional Jobs Committee Secures Two-Year Funding Extension

The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee has received confirmation of funding for a further two years, as part of the Queensland Government’s refreshed Regional Jobs Committee program.

Representatives from committees across Queensland met in Brisbane last month to mark the launch of the revitalised program, supported by record investment in the 2025–26 State Budget. Under the updated model, 12 organisations — including the Springfield Regional Jobs Committee — will lead efforts to address local workforce needs from 2025 to 2027.

The extended two-year terms will allow committees to plan and deliver longer-term initiatives aimed at strengthening regional workforces. Their work will focus on identifying skills shortages, supporting training pathways, linking communities with employment programs and resources, and fostering collaboration between business, industry, training providers and schools.

Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the renewed program will ensure committees are better equipped to respond to local challenges and create meaningful employment outcomes.

The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee welcomed the announcement, highlighting the opportunity to continue supporting local employers, jobseekers and industries as the region experiences ongoing growth.
